Deleting your household
A RabbL household — a Family — holds everything the people in it have put there. Deleting it removes all of that, for everyone in it, and it cannot be undone.
How to delete it
In the app: Settings → Delete household. A grown-up can do it from their own phone. You are offered the chance to save the household’s photographs to your phone first, and asked to type the household’s name to confirm. Every device signed in to the household is signed out at that moment, and everyone else in it who has an email address is told.
By email, if you no longer have the app: email socraatestechnologies@gmail.com from the address you sign in with, and say that you want your household deleted. We use the address to check that the request comes from someone in that household — we do not ask for a password, because RabbL does not have one.
Either way, your household is erased within 30 days, and usually within a few hours. You will get one email confirming it is done.
What gets deleted
Everything belonging to the household: the calendar and its entries, the shopping list, the to-do list, meals and recipes, the photographs and the files behind them, every member, and every device that was signed in. Any calendar you connected is disconnected and the credential it used is destroyed.
What is kept, and for how long
If the household ordered photo prints, a record of the order is kept — what was ordered, when, and what it cost. This is a financial record, and it is kept for as long as UK tax and company law require financial records to be kept. It holds no personal information: no name, no address, no photographs, and nothing identifying the household it came from.
Nothing else is kept. Backups are overwritten on their own schedule and are never used to restore a deleted household.
Taking a copy first
Deletion is final, so take what you want to keep before you ask for it. Your photographs can be saved to your phone from within the app. If you want a copy of the rest — the lists, the calendar and the meals — ask in the same email and we will send it to you before anything is deleted.
Deleting one person instead
You do not have to delete the whole household to remove one person. A grown-up can remove a member in the app, under Settings. Someone who has already been named on an entry or a job is retired rather than erased, so the history the rest of the household relies on stays readable.
